Forever 60 Theorycraft

Forever keeps the 51-point Classic budget but rebuilds almost every tree, adds a 16-point gold-medal talent, unifies Hit and Crit, and pulls the old "talent taxes" into baseline kits. Hybrid splits that were traps in 2004 now land on real payoff talents. Below: what changed for each class, and 31 level-60 builds, from safe raid picks to things nobody has tried yet.

Read this first. The beta was capped at level 30 (latest build Oct 15, 2026), so no one has played any of these at 60. Every build here is theorycraft from Blizzard's class deep dives and beta patch notes. Talents marked "assumed" are vanilla capstones that the deep dives did not list as changed. The Power and Newness ratings are my own estimates, not data.

What changes the math

Talent structure

  • 51 points at 60. Gold-medal milestones at 11, 16 (new), 21 and 31 points.
  • Row k needs 5×(k−1) points in that tree, so a 31/20 split reaches the second tree's 16-point gold, and 21/30 reaches row 6 of the second tree.
  • Dual Specialization at level 40. Respecs at a capital-city class trainer.
  • Separate account-wide Legacy talents (Professions, Adventure, Resourcefulness trees), up to 16 points per character in the beta.

Stats and buffs

  • One Hit stat and one Crit stat for melee, ranged and spells. Hybrid gear stops being split across three hit caps.
  • Bonus Healing also gives some Bonus Damage, which makes healer-gear DPS hybrids workable.
  • Kings, Divine Spirit and Improved Mark of the Wild are baseline. So are Consecration, Aimed Shot, Fear Ward and Devouring Plague.
  • Raid-wide since Oct 15: Battle Shout, Trueshot Aura, Leader of the Pack, Moonkin Aura, and the Grace of Air, Strength of Earth, Windfury and Flametongue totems. LotP is now melee/ranged crit and Moonkin is spell crit, so a raid can run both.

Racials (Oct 15 build)

  • Every race has 2 active and 2 passive racials. Resistance racials are gone, and weapon specs now give crit instead of weapon skill.
  • Human Ruthless: +2% crit on everything. Orc Savage +1% crit, Blood Fury +10% AP and SP. Dwarf Earth Fury +2% crit damage and healing. Tauren +5% HP, +2% crit damage and healing. Troll Berserking and 20% in-combat regen.
  • Skyborne (new, both factions): +3% haste and +5% damage to Elementals. A strong default for casters.
  • Undead Touch of the Grave now procs 30% of the time for casters. Gnome Eureka! gives an 8-second cost and damage buff.
Find your main

Which spec should you main?

One question at a time, graded with the community "Find your Main in WoW Forever" sheet. You get a ranked list of all 29 specs, and the level-60 builds from this guide for each one.

How the score works

Every answer grades each of the 29 specs as a good fit, a narrow fit or a poor fit, using the sheet's grades. Each answer then moves a spec's score by how much better or worse it fits that answer than it usually fits the question, times how much the answer matters (Slightly 1, Clearly 2). Scoring against the usual fit stops all-rounders from winning just by being decent at everything. Answers about who you are as a player count three times: role, melee or ranged, spells or weapons, class fantasy, tone, armor, weapon, pets, shapeshifting, magic school, how you like to win, and your healing or tanking style.

Your roles and melee-or-ranged answer are gates: specs outside them rank below every spec inside them. A Dealbreaker removes every spec it grades a poor fit. "No strong preference" never changes a score. Results say whether the top pick is clear or a close call, and which answers separate it from the runner-up.

Sections for PvP, battlegrounds, dungeons and raids, leveling, Hardcore and farming only appear if you pick that content at the start. The builds under each spec are this guide's theorycraft. Within a spec, builds tagged for your content come first. Run the checks
